Announcing Bike & Sail with the Gundalow Company!

Two very special opportunities for SABR Members and Friends this October: Bike & Sail – Multimodal Adventures

Presented by The Gundalow Company

ONE-WAY Sails October 1st and 3rd. Tickets are $25 per person per trip.

The 65 ft wooden Gundalow will be sailing on two special ONE-WAY trips between Prescott Park in Portsmouth and Adams Point in Durham.

These are unique opportunities to enjoy a sail up the Piscataqua River, under the (infamous) General Sullivan and Little Bay Bridges, and into Great Bay. After docking in Durham or Portsmouth, you can set off by bike as you please. This will not be a guided trip, so please review routes before arriving and make sure your bike is in good working order.

For each trip, please arrive at least 15 minutes before departure time. It is about 20 miles by road between Durham and Portsmouth, either by way of the Little Bay Bridge and Pease, or through Newmarket/Greenland. Or, you could ride from home or leave a car somewhere in between!

Friday Oct 1 2:15-4:30pm – Portsmouth to Durham
Sunday Oct 3 11:15-1:10pm – Durham to Portsmouth

Durham location is the Jackson Estuarine Lab dock on Adams Point (85 Adams Point Rd, parking available). Portsmouth dock is at Prescott Park (parking available on Water St and on Peirce Island).

For those interested, SABR Board Member David Allen will lead a ride leaving from Prescott Park (meet opposite the Liberty Flag Pole) at 8:30 on Sunday October 3 for those signed up for the Gundalow sail from Durham to Portsmouth. The ride is approximately 20 miles and includes rolling hills. Average pace will be 13-15 mph.
